Summary |
The Edwards Aquifer Authority contracted with Zara Environmental LLC, to perform a three-year study to document the current status and distribution of organisms in the artesian portion of the Edwards Aquifer. This is the second major sampling effort in the artesian portion of the aquifer and the first one completed in more than 30 years. This report documents the findings of the study. Twelve sites ranging from 111 to 652 meters in depth yielded invertebrate fauna, including 22 unique taxa in eight orders. In addition, three new localities for the toothless blindcat were found. One represented a six kilometer range extension to the southwest. |
