Sustainability
The Aquifer Sustainability Program focuses on protecting recharge and groundwater quality quantity while enhancing sustainable use of the Edwards Aquifer by providing EAA and COSA conservation easement program monitoring on over 190,000 acres of land in the recharge and contributing zones of the Edwards Aquifer, by implementing innovative nature-based land management practices designed to enhance aquifer recharge and soil health at the EAA Field Research Park, and by maintaining four EAA operated recharge structures in Medina County. The Aquifer Sustainability Team Program also manages the EAA Geographic Information System that enables EAA staff and stakeholders to visualize data that supports the EAA mission.
