1996

EUWD abolished, Edwards Aquifer Authority established

 

 

1998

Authority declares Stage I water restrictions, June 2, 1998, because of declining aquifer levels. The trigger for entering Stage I is 650' msl at the J-17 Index Well, located in San Antonio. Stage I restrictions are in place for the San Antonio pool, which includes Bexar County and portions of Comal, Hays, Guadalupe and Caldwell counties.The Authority declares Stage II water restrictions, June 25, 1998, because of the continuing decline in aquifer levels. The trigger for entering Stage II is 642' msl at the J-17 Index Well, located in San Antonio. Stage II restrictions go into effect for the San Antonio pool, which includes Bexar County and portions of Comal, Hays, Guadalupe, and Caldwell counties.

1999

Drought causes flow at Comal Springs to decline to 58 cfs
