Mario H. Cruz

Mario H. Cruz is a resident of Uvalde County and represents District 14, which covers the western half of Uvalde County. He was elected to the board in November 2004. His current term expires December 1, 2008. Cruz serves on the board’s Finance/Administrative Committee and Research & Technology Committee.

Cruz was born in La Pryor, Texas and is a graduate of Uvalde High School.

Cruz is a retired Registered Nurse and a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree of Science in Nursing.

Cruz is active in his community. He has volunteered his time with several organizations including Voluntary Guardianship Services. He has also served as a member of several boards including the City of Uvalde Housing Authority, and Uvalde Memorial Hospital.
