Doug Miller, Chairman

Doug Miller is a resident of New Braunfels and represents District 9 of the Authority, which includes eastern Comal and western Guadalupe counties. His current term expires December 1, 2006. Miller is chairman of the board and a member of the Executive Committee.  He was appointed by the Texas Water Development Board to serve as a small business representative on the South Central Texas Regional Water Planning Group.

Miller is president of Miller & Miller Insurance Agency in New Braunfels. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University.

Miller represented the City of New Braunfels and Comal County as water liaison from 1988 to 1996. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he served on a number of water study committees that contributed to the management plan for the Edwards Aquifer. Miller also sat on the New Braunfels City Council from 1987 to 1990, and served as Mayor from 1988 to 1990.

Miller is currently president-elect of the Wurstfest Association and is a member of the Downtown New Braunfels Rotary Club. He is past president of the National Society of Certified Professional Insurance Agents, past chair of the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, and past president of the Comal County Fair Association, United Way of Comal County and the New Braunfels Jaycees.
