Carol Patterson

Carol Patterson is a resident of San Antonio and represents District 1, which covers north central Bexar County. Her current term expires December 1, 2006. Patterson serves on the board’s Research & Technology Committee and Finance/Administrative Committee.

Patterson holds a bachelor’s degree from Reed College and has attended the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the Rochester Institute of Technology. She is a professional calligrapher and her work has been exhibited both in the United States and abroad. She has taught calligraphy in community education classes at the San Antonio Art Institute for six years.

Patterson organized the Aquifer Resources Conference in December of 1988, which was co-sponsored by the South Texas Geological Society and the Division of Sciences, Mathematics and Engineering at Trinity University, and in 1991 she served as a coordinator and presenter for Track II of the Citizens Water Committee in San Antonio. She also organized a series of five water forums on Edwards Aquifer management issues in 1996, and served on the 1996-1997 Mayor’s Citizens Water Committee. Patterson is an associate member of the South Texas Geological Society, and also a member of Regional Clean Air and Water, and the Water Policy Group.

Patterson was a director of the Edwards Underground Water District and served on the Technical, Administrative, Budget and Special Projects committees.
