Water levels, as recorded at the Bexar County Index Well (J-17), are provided here in 15-minute intervals and are subject to qualitative review by the Edwards Aquifer Authority.

The Edwards Aquifer Authority is solely responsible for determining and reporting official readings at the Bexar County Index Well based on each day’s highest water level recorded. The Authority uses this information for official historical reporting and for determining and enforcing groundwater reductions during periods of high aquifer demand and/or drought.
