Widemouth blindcat

Listed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife as a threatened species, it is one of only two troglobitic (cave-adapted) catfish known in North America. It is a predator and is probably at the top of the food chain in its natural habitat. The widemouth blindcat occurs in the artesian zone of the Edwards Aquifer near (and underneath) San Antonio.
